CRUISE Program Mission

Creating Rich Unique Intellectual Student Experiences (CRUISE) aims to prepare and engage new, incoming students through a three-day, on-campus experience. Participants will successfully identify resources necessary to excel academically, connect with other first-time students, and get to know faculty through informal meeting spaces leading to a sense of belonging.  

About CRUISE

  • Meet other students, and your personal Peer Navigator
  • Work one-on-one with faculty who are committed to student success
  • Get exposure to campus resources, student programming, and clubs
  • Participate in academic and counseling workshops with faculty and staff
  • Receive support for your entire academic year at Mesa

We have different CRUISEs that are designed to meet the needs of our diverse student population:

recent high school graduates

Our three-day Summer CRUISE sessions are open for all new, incoming students who recently graduated from high school or have graduated from high school and have not attended college in the last three years. Multiple sessions are available (Each session is the same; after choosing a session, please plan to attend all three days, held from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM daily):

Tuesday, June 25 to Thursday, June 27
Tuesday, July 9 to Thursday, July 11
Tuesday, July 16 to Thursday, July 18
Tuesday, July 23 to Thursday, July 25
Tuesday, July 30 to Thursday, August 1

new students transitioning from continuing education, veterans, and adult learners who have yet to attend college 

Our one-day Saturday sessions are open to new students who are transitioning from Continuing Education, the Armed Forces, and Adult Learners who have yet to attend college. Two sessions available (Each session is the same; after choosing a session, please plan to attend the entire day, held from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM daily):

NEW FOR 2019 - MATHLETICS AT SUMMER CRUISE! 

Need to brush up on your math skills and be ready for math in the fall? Come hang out and meet cool Math faculty who will help and work with you! This session will be math focused and going to be FUN! (This three-day session is open to all new, incoming students; please plan to attend all three days, held from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM daily):

FAMILY MEMBER/PARENT ACADEMY

An informational workshop to help parents/family members understand what college will be like for their first-year student. Three sessions available:
